Synopsis
Amina, My Sister follows a Rohingya family as they flee persecution and begin a new life in one of the world's largest refugee camps in Bangladesh. Through the eyes of Amina and her family, the documentary offers an intimate portrait of resilience, hope and humanity as they rebuild their lives after unimaginable loss.
Creative Approach
Documentaries often rely on authenticity above all else, and this project was no exception. My role was to unify footage captured across multiple camera systems while preserving the honesty of each moment.
Rather than creating a heavily stylised grade, I developed a natural, cohesive colour palette that embraced the warmth, dust and atmosphere of Bangladesh. Maintaining consistent skin tones across varying lighting conditions was key, allowing the audience to remain immersed in the family's journey rather than distracted by technical inconsistencies.
The grade gently supports the emotional narrative, balancing moments of hardship with the warmth, resilience and joy that still exist within Amina's family and community.
